When mmy alcoholic father would rail, I'd start cleaning or studying in my room, out of his way, drawing no attention to myself unless it was good. I tend to go into work mode when things are rough, but over the last three or four years, because of a family situation, I have learned to try to give it over to God. My house isn't as clean but my heart is a bit calmer.
Cleaning and diving into research are great examples of ways we learn to soothe and seek comfort in the midst of distress. Great reason to be grateful for messy houses when they point to calmer hearts! Turn that cleanliness is next to godliness upside down! Thanks for chiming in. We can most definitely learn from each other! 🤍🐑
I tend towards perfectionism. Describing the learning as peeling off one finger at a time from the grip is helpful. Yep, It's not good to feel I have to keep the plates spinning b/c proportion & balance are thrown off. Great point to not shame ourselves, just be honest where we struggle. I can trust God - He holds all things together and that is the best scenario for Him and me.
He is so gracious doing His renovation one finger at a time. I too need the reminder that it’s not his voice when it sounds like shame. Thank you for chiming in—we learn from each other! Blessings🐑🤍
Renovation in progress. I do need that on a label to wear.. He makes all things beautiful in his time.
Yes indeed! His time…😇
